Overview


Employment Status: Full-time, "exempt" probationary position with the possibility of converting to permanent.

Work Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Typical Activities


Under supervision of the Director of Administrative Computing and Business Intelligence, the incumbent will be the technical liaison between Subject Matter Experts in HR and Academic Personnel business units and other business partners to implement system wide initiatives associated with the Oracle/PeopleSoft Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) that includes the Common Human Resources System (CHRS), Standardization project, Employment History database (EHDB) project, Recruiting, Training, and other systems related to HR processes.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following job duties:

  • Lead project team members through the process of developing and maintaining requirements from analysis to deployment. Tracks project and communicates to stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
  • Provide support to all PeopleSoft HCM customizations, upgrades, consolidation activities, on-going bundles and maintenance packs relevant to upgrades and best assist with developing best business practices for new delivered functionality mandated by the CSU, Chancellor's Office.
  • Serve as a liaison between Subject Matter Experts, Technical Resources and functional users on HCM HR projects to meet deadlines mandated by the campus and/or by the Chancellor's Office. Projects may include PeopleSoft (PeopleTools upgrade, duplicate Id's, on-going maintenance packs testing and scripts clean-up for production).
  • Participate on various subcommittees to take notes and distribute to CSUSB HR Subject Matter Experts. Schedule teleconferences and meetings for HR subcommittees

  • Automated job offer system
  • Automated Onboarding process to include new hire forms, I-9 Verification, etc.
  • Other HR processes include, but not limited to performance evaluation, in-range progression, and reclasses.
Provide support for the HR/Staff Development Center:
  • Co-champion one training depository for all CSUSB-sponsored learning opportunities accessible by staff, administrators, faculty, and student workers

General Campus Support:
  • Serve as technical auditor to ensure existing computers and software is up-to-date; ones that require annual renewals and administrator access
  • Manage Zoom SMEs and/or serve as Zoom Technician for multi-day programs and events, inluding the conversion of recorded sessions in compliance with accessibility
  • Recommend software/application to replace Excel spreadsheet for organizing and tracking metrics (workshops/trainings, appointments)
  • SME/Liaison to serve as a "go to" for implementing and maintaining Engage
  • Serve as local/on-campus Camtasia SME/Liaison
  • Serve as local/on-campus iModules SME/Liaison
  • Serve as local/on-campus Adobe Creative Cloud SME/Liaison
  • Serve as local/on-campus Portfolium SME/Liaison
  • Acquire Slack Instant Messaging

Other Related Job Duties:
  • Work to develop an HR Service tracking system.
  • Website maintenance and data analytics.
  • Provide reports/data for ad-hoc requests


Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • A four-year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Equivalent of 5 years of experience in general office clerical work, along with three years' experience working in an administrative support role.
  • Experience using standard office software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Access, and email programs. Must have a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling and punctuation, along with a working knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs is required. Applicants must have a background in planning, organizing, and supervising the work of others. Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to independently identify and solve complex production problems.
  • Ability to work with outside systems integration.
  • Clear, positive, solution-oriented communication skills to translate user needs into effective technical solutions.

Preferred
  • Experience in a University environment along with experience with PeopleSoft
  • Experience working with Human Resources
  • Work with systems that use workflow
  • CSU system experience a plus


Supplemental Information

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
