About the Position:
University Advancement serves Cal State Fullerton by building and strengthening relationships with the communities we serve to encourage advocacy, investment and support of the University, its mission, goals and programs in support of student and alumni success. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Associate Director, Annual Campaigns and Parent and Family Relations. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Annual Campaigns and Stewardship, the Associate Director of Annual Campaigns and Parent and Family Relations assists in the management of the Parent and Family Relations program, faculty/staff/emeriti annual giving, leadership giving, and stewardship, as well as provides assistance in the management of the 11-point plan, with a particular focus on Giving Tuesday, Gradfest, the United Way campaign, and special projects. The position oversees the work of the Assistant Director of Annual Campaigns and Parent and Family Relations. Solicits sponsorship for Parent and Family Relations and other university events. Collaborates with Student Affairs on all Parent and Family Relations planning. Plans yearly strategic fundraising program and ensures fundraising participation goals are met in the area of Parent and Family Relations. Works on strategies, retention, planning and implementation of recent graduate, young alumni fundraising, parents and leadership level donors. Creates and solicits sponsorship opportunities for Parent and Family Relationships and other key university events and programs. Assists the Senior Director with oversight of budget processes and reporting to ensure revenue and expenses are on target through each fiscal year. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. A minimum of two years of related professional experience in fundraising with the ability to demonstrate independent fundraising success. Possession of superior written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work with teams of faculty, staff, students and volunteers. Ability to understand the culture of a university. Proficiency in the use of general office equipment and Windows-based computers.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Special Working Conditions:
The scope of responsibilities for this position includes the making or participating in the making of decisions that may have a material financial benefit on the incumbent. Therefore, you will be required to file an initial Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interests within thirty (30) days from date of hire and on an annual basis; and complete the CSU sponsored ethics on-line training within thirty (30) days of appointment, and at least once during each consecutive period of two calendar years following the appointment.
