Job Summary:

The University of San Francisco (USF) is searching for faculty member to join the Population Health Department (PHD). The PH Department offers three programs, Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science in Behavioral Health (MSBH), and Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI).

The mission of the MPH Program at USF is to develop a cadre of public health leaders and generalists who will advance public health, social justice, and well-being in the City of San Francisco, the State of California, the United States, and the world, and to create an educational public health presence that promotes community engagement, professional collaborations, evidence-based practice, and public health advocacy.

The MSBH prepares graduates to integrate physical and psychological factors to address health disparities within healthcare delivery systems. A degree for the non-clinician, graduates are equipped to work collaboratively with other health professionals to analyze and address complex health-related behavioral challenges in diverse communities. The preparation has a population focus and emphasizes evidence-based strategies for promoting behavioral health. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have the tools to improve access, delivery, and evaluation of health services.

The MSHI Program endeavors to create a stimulating environment that engages students, faculty and external collaborators from clinics, startups, and global health organizations to create disruptive innovations in and to improve healthcare throughout the system. A focus on harnessing advanced technology to improve access and outcomes in underserved populations, locally and globally, is a key part of its mission. The program collaborates with other departments in the university, including nursing and related health professions, computer science, analytics and biotechnology and advances relationships with external healthcare organizations, digital health startups, and global organizations.

Job Responsibilities:

Teaching assignments will include online courses and also may be located at various campuses. Successful candidates will be expected to engage in classroom and fieldwork placement and supervision, develop an independent and ongoing program of scholarship, and perform service that will contribute to the university and profession.

Minimum Requirements:

A Doctorate in Health Education, Environmental Health, Social Work, Nursing, Public Health, Global Health, or a related field is required at time of appointment. The appointment will be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on years of teaching experience. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to work in a culturally diverse environment and to contribute to the Mission of the University of San Francisco.
