Job Summary:
SUMMARY:

Under the direction of an assigned administrator, manage, plan, design, program, implement, maintain and enhance the college website. Provide training, technical assistance and advice on web design to faculty and staff. Provide expertise and support to faculty and staff to meet Federal and State laws pertaining to website accessibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintain the official college website.

Provide expertise and training on web applications, such as but not limited to content management systems and form creation programs.

Create web pages using the district content management system and embed content from other websites.

Prepare and set up websites for employees or departments as requested.

Provide training to faculty and staff in the design and development of web pages and create web-based instructional materials.

Update information in pages, databases and links so that website content is kept current and problem free.

Serve as a primary resource to ensure that Federal, State and college web-based accessibility standards are met and ensure the college website is in compliance.

Act as primary contact person for questions related to the design and functionality of the college website.

Maintain currency in web applications and related technologies, and with laws and standards pertaining to website accessibility.


SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports.

Represent website interests to college and district councils, committees and other groups and individuals.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to: Completion of an Associate's degree in web development or a related field and 1 year of web development experience or three years of experience in web development including computer software support and training.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Web applications and related technologies, including but not limited to the district content management system, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Web design principles and creation of web graphics.
Web accessibility standards, including Federal and State laws.
Accessibility tools and testing software.
Audio/video streaming and software tools.
Technical aspects in field of specialty.
Software installation procedures.
Principles and practices of providing technical assistance and training.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Oral and written communication skills.
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
Modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
Recordkeeping techniques.

ABILITY TO:

Manage, design, and develop websites.
Train faculty and staff in the design and development of web pages.
Use a variety of software proficiently (e.g., word processing, graphics, presentation, spreadsheet, database, multimedia authoring) in a Windows environment.
Quickly learn new software programs and explain them to users.
Troubleshoot PC and Mac software, on-line programs and network problems as it pertains to web applications and websites.
Write documentation and understand computer manuals.
Provide technical assistance to website users.
Operate computers and peripheral equipment.
Evaluate computer hardware and support software and make appropriate recommendations.
Meet schedules and timelines.
Train and provide work direction to others.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Read, understand and explain technical materials and policies.
Prioritize work and give attention to detail.
