Annual Giving Coordinator

Reporting to the Associate Director for Annual Fund Marketing, the Annual Giving Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the The Simmons Fund through developing and implementing strategies for increasing fundraising results for projects initiated on campus. The core focus of the Annual Giving Coordinator will employ strategies for the phonathon through managing student callers, retaining callers, and other initiatives that increase productivity. Additionally the Coordinator will manage on-campus fundraising efforts for senior class gift, faculty, reunion giving, and staff fundraising.

The Annual Giving Coordinator will be organized, goal-oriented, highly motivated, deadline focused and will demonstrate an ability to motivate others. The Annual Giving Coordinator will work closely with other teams within the division, including Alumni Engagement, Capital Gifts, gift planning, and other institutional partnerships. In addition, in order to accomplish key goals and objectives, the Annual Giving Coordinator will have excellent written, verbal communication skills; outgoing, motivating personality; positive attitude; at ease speaking with many people of various backgrounds; comfortable and confident asking people for donations; and knowledgeable about activities/events occurring at the College.

Essential Functions

Oversee the Student Phone Program:
  • Hiring, supervising and evaluating approximately 3 student managers and indirectly a staff of approximately 20 paid phone callers;
  • Developing and implementing an incentive program that motivates and empowers students to reach highest level of achievement;
  • Coordinating each semester's calling schedule and payroll;
  • Creating an environment that feels safe, fun, challenging, and exciting for the callers, while fostering high levels of productivity within the Program;
  • Communicating important messages, themes, announcements, etc. to the student callers, most often via email, newsletters, etc.;
  • Processing pledges for accuracy and ensure that the pledge receipts are mailed to donors daily;
  • Running performance reports on a nightly basis to analyze program results.

Engage the College community in philanthropy through the management of the Faculty & Staff Campaign:
  • Determining Campaign timelines, messaging, and priorities with Advancement colleagues;
  • Tracking participation and regularly reporting results;
  • Developing fresh and creative campaign initiatives that encourage giving and foster community spirit;
  • Coordinating payroll deduction program and stewardship in coordination with the Payroll & Benefits Office and the Office of Advancement Services.

Support Assistant Director with direct marketing program:
  • Providing administrative support for direct marketing operations and successful project management;
  • Partner with budget manager(s) to track and manage direct marketing spending;
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.

Required Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, team environment;

Work Schedule
This is a 40-hour position.
