Job Summary:

California State University, Fullerton is searching for a Assistant Athletics Director, Marketing & Communication (Administrator I-Range A) with a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director, the Assistant Athletics Director, Marketing and Communication is responsible for providing leadership for the marketing and communications areas in the Athletics Department. <span light?,sans-serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:
Develops and implements an aggressive marketing, advertising, and promotion plan for all areas of supervision with a focus on increasing revenue. Increases awareness through print and electronic media, advertising, web content, community partners, and social media platforms. <span calibri="" light?,sans-serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;
Devises and executes plans geared towards increasing visibility and brand, both internally and externally, for the Athletics Department and the university as a whole. Develops departmental policies and procedures, establishes goals and objectives, and manages budgets for all areas of supervision. Responsible for administration of NCAA Championship events (i.e., NCAA Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Big West Championships, etc.). Charged with supervising various levels of personnel within the areas of Ticket Sales, Fan Experience, Digital Media, Athletics Communications, and with the added potential of oversight and supervision of at least one sport. Performs other related duties as assigned.



Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications from an accredited university or related field required with at least four years of full-time professional experience working in strategic communications, media relations, marketing communications, digital/social media or related field and preferably in an athletics environment. Possess a strong ability to organize, plan, develop and execute in order to meet department goals and objectives. Proficiency with Mac Desktop Publishing, preferably In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dream Weaver. Knowledge/usage of multiple office machines. Excellent customer service, oral and written communications skills are a must. Must possess the ability to lead the work of others. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, strong attention to detail, and meet specific goals and timelines. Ability to work in a diverse team environment that includes alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and community volunteers.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Therefore, you will be required to file an initial Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interests within thirty (30) days from date of hire and on an annual basis; and complete the CSU sponsored ethics on-line training within thirty (30) days of appointment, and at least once during each consecutive period of two calendar years following the appointment.
