The Assistant Director overseeing Transfer Advising services reports to the Director of Advising and LifeMap and is part of a leadership team that is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and assessment of integrated, timely and accessible transfer advising services and programing with the goal of promoting equitable student outcomes in transfer. The Assistant Director will provide direction and oversight in support of the development and implementation of transfer advising services and curriculum, development of transfer articulation agreements, marketing of statewide transfer programs and partnerships, and other initiatives that support the college's student success agenda.



Responsibilities:



  • Provides direct supervision, and evaluation of transfer specific staff including student employees.
  • Works with the Director to plan, implement and evaluate college-wide transfer advising services.
  • Assists the Director with the supervision of the day-to-day operations of Advising & LifeMap, including scheduling, reporting and providing academic, transfer and career advising for all students.
  • Provides vision and direct oversight over all transfer programs and their implementation at the college; works with the Enrollment Coordinator to manage and update existing transfer articulation agreements, transfer pathway agreements, and compliance with all MassTransfer programs;
  • Collaborates with the Director and Associate Director to plan and facilitate staff meetings, professional development and trainings for staff and student workers; assists with the internal management of the online appointment scheduling system.
  • Develops and manages all transfer advising events including, but not limited to the bi-annual transfer fair, transfer workshop series, and other specialized transfer events held in person and virtually.
  • Designs and implements an ongoing plan for assessment of the transfer services curriculum, services and events; develops reports and makes appropriate adjustments
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of college wide transfer policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots student concerns regarding the transferability of college credit; works with the Registrar and Academic Records Office to maintain a standard operating procedure for transcript evaluation and timely notification to students about their transfer credit awards.
  • Develops, delivers and assesses relevant transfer services training and professional development for staff and faculty advisors to ensure outstanding transfer advising services to students.
  • Utilizes the College's SIS system (Colleague) and CRM (TargetX) to review student records and develop appropriate reports to support the functions of Transfer Services and Advising and LifeMap.
  • Serve on departmental, divisional and college-wide committees.
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Business Management or a closely related field; with at least three (3) years of experience in a higher education setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be committed to the mission of the community college and demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
  • Extensive knowledge of student development concepts, principles, and practices in coaching strategies;
  • Experience using student information systems (SIS) such as Colleague or other student management software
  • Demonstrate and possess a strong ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; ability to handle confidential/sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement solutions to complex problems.
  • Previous experience with building processes and/or implementing workflows.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to travel to and from statewide transfer events.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows: Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Focused ability to drive results and passion for follow-up.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as well as Saturdays in August, September and January.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Vietnamese.
  • Experience working at an HSI or MSI.
  • Experience using Transferology


Additional Information:

Salary Range: $80,000.00 -$90,000.00
