Associate Professor/Professor of Machine Tool Technology - One Year Temporary

Description

Under the general supervision of the Division Dean of Applied Science, Business and Technology, the Associate Professor/Professor of Machine Tool Technology teaches organized classes primarily in the Machine Tool Technology discipline; the primary responsibility is to teach 15 units (per term) in the assigned discipline.

This is a one-year temporary position.


Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Hand G & M Code programming and trouble shooting
  2. Use Mastercam CAM software to create G & M programs


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Any Associate Degree and six years of directly related experience in the field, OR any Bachelor's Degree and two years directly related experience in the field, OR the equivalent.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in teaching postsecondary courses in Machine Tool Technology or a related discipline, especially at the community college level.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different levels of students' ability and learning styles.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to students from different cultures and ethnic groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to use innovative and creative teaching techniques and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with colleagues on various issues to bring about results which are in the best interest of the students, program, division, and college.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and desire to make educational programs successful and to work with community groups in order to coordinate the educational programs with the needs of the community.
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in professional, community and business and industry-related meetings and workshops and visit local employer job sites to remain current with new developments in the field.
