Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada is seeking applicants for a Director for Budget and Planning. The position provides leadership and support with budget and planning; grants and contracts; and risk management of the College.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely-related field from an accredited institution.

2. Five years of experience in a related position, including three years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in Accounting or closely-related field from an accredited institution.

2. Experience in Higher Education, government or non-profit.

Responsibilities:

Candidates must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment. inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.

1. Plan, organize, and lead efforts to:
  • Develop and implement budget analysis and financial planning including systems and process flow for all college funds and programs.
  • Provide guidance to college staff in appropriate budget and financial practices in compliance with federal, state and local laws, rules and policies. Provide training and education programs related to these areas.
  • Establish and maintain systems to ensure internal control.


2. Assist in the preparation of the annual resource allocation plan.

3. Hire, supervise, support, train and evaluate employees.

4. Act as liaison with NSHE staff and auditors as assigned.

5. Represent the college at state meetings as assigned.

6. Understand and accept the role to be played as a partner in an educational enterprise serving the best interests of the students.

7. Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission, and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Salary Information: $88,686 Salary placement is dependent on education and experience.
