Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Job Summary:

The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will direct the Strength and Conditioning Department with a focus on developing, organizing, and managing athletic performance initiatives that lead to healthy, cardiovascular fit and sport appropriate strong student-athletes. This position will report to Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance.

Job Responsibilities:

o Direct supervision of the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
o Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for Mens Basketball and Volleyball
o Manage athletic performance services for Mens Basketball and Volleyball
o Organize meals for Mens Basketball while traveling
o Sports Science representative for the Athletic Performance Team
o Coordinate daily training table meals for mens and womens basketball
o Oversight of the Regen Room budget and supply & inventory
o Management of strength and conditioning department
o Collaborate with the Sports Medicine Staff to develop sports specific return to play rehabilitation protocols for injured student-athletes
o Direct and evaluate student-athlete performance testing
o Organize and communicate data for the Sparta athletic performance reporting system
o Maintenance of a safe and orderly environment in the Weight Room
o Abide by and support all relevant NCAA rules and regulations

Minimum Requirements:

o Bachelors degree required. Masters degree in Exercise Sports Science or related area preferred.
o CPR/AED Certified
o 2 years experience in the collegiate setting.
o Certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS certified) or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCC certification).
