Job Summary
Administer, coordinate and supervise all aspects for an NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country / Track & Field programs.

Responsibilities
The job duties include, but are not limited to:

PROVIDE PROGRAM AND TEAM LEADERSHIP-Providing pre-planned practice, travel, and game schedules in to enhance communication with athletes, and to enhance the communication with appropriate athletics staff such as the Sports Medicine and Sports Information, Keeping an inventory record of supplies and equipment to maintain adequate supply levels, Supervising and training of staff members such as assistant coaches, graduate assistants, managers, work study students, volunteers, etc. Maintaining a good working relationship with AU administrative staff and faculty, such as financial aid, admissions, registrar, FAR, athletic advisor, professors, etc. Recruit student-athletes to maintain a competitive team by: Developing a good relationship with coaches and contacts of high schools, junior colleges, clubs and community sponsored groups, Contacting and evaluating local, state, national and international prospective student-athletes, Conducting official and unofficial visits, Coordinating recruiting efforts with NCAA Compliance Officer while also maintaining personal knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules.

ADHERE TO ATHLETIC ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATING PROCEDURES AND BUDGETS- Submitting annual sport budget requests in a timely manner to the athletics department staff for approval by the Director of Athletics and Athletics Business Manager,Submitting proposed athletic scholarships to Director of Athletics for approval, Obtaining prior approval for all purchases and team travel through the Athletics Business manager as part of the budgeting process, Maintaining a working knowledge of ARMS software.

PROMOTE SPORTS PROGRAM & ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT THROUGH DIRECT COMMUNITY & CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT- Maintaining accessibility to the media, Conducting public speaking events and appearances, Involving team in community service and campus activities, Supporting major campus events. Comply with all regulatory agencies and associations pertaining to sport program governing rules and regulations in the following ways: Complying with all AU, PBC, NCAA, USG and BOR rules, regulations, and procedures, Participating in relevant AU, PBC, NCAA, USG and BOR rules and policy education programs, Maintaining knowledge of the AU Student-Athlete Handbook to discuss with team members appropriate rules and procedures pertaining to their activities and conduct, Attending professional development seminars and conferences to enhance professional growth, Maintaining current membership with sport specific coaching association.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 3 - 5 years of experience at a collegiate level which may include coaching or competing. Knowledge of the NCAA & PBC rules and regulations. Must acquire CPR certification within 2 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Coaching and recruiting experience at the collegiate level is highly desirable and a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the practices and physiology of endurance athletes and athletic training theory is necessary to ensure the safety of the student-athletes.

SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must possess strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.

ABILITIES
Requires the ability to maintain excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift Days/M-F *Work outside of the normal business hours may be required*
Pay Grade: 14
Salary Minimum $36,197/annually-$45,000/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
