Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM;this is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2018 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if program needs exist.

Job Summary:
California State University, Fullerton is searching for an Information Technology Consultant - Career. The successful candidate will work independently on complex problems and work assignments, interacting with students, faculty members, and staff in the Division of Information Technology. The successful candidate enjoys challenges and problem solving, is looking for growth, and enjoys working within a diverse field. The Information Technology Consultant - Career should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under general supervision of ISO, contributes to campus information security strategyand CSU policy and standards. Responsible for moderately complex securityissues including digital forensics, vulnerability management, risk and securityassessment, log analysis, configuration management, incident response, andinventory management. Responsible for promotinginformation security efforts to develop campus-wide security projects to reducerisk, develop Information Technology operational andtechnical controls, promote information security policy and compliance to improve IT security posture . other duties as assigned




Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field and five years of relevant full-time experience. Twelve years of relevant full-time experience or an associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and seven years of relevant full-time experience may be substituted for the previously listed education and experience requirement.

Advanced knowledge of the work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of the advanced principles and theories. Ability to integrate and apply work related knowledge to achieve innovative solutions, anticipate the impact of problems and solutions on other systems, investigate and research new systems and technologies, and develop complex information technology systems and solutions. Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective. Ability to explore, conceive, and implement solutions and ideas in new ways. Ability to predict and anticipate problems and create proactive solutions. Demonstrated communication expertise using persuasion and negotiation. Ability to lead technical team efforts and assess skills within a team and work to build on individual strengths to maximize team results. Ability to teach and transfer knowledge and skills to others.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
