Position Summary
The Instructor in English teaches Composition I, Composition II, and World Literature Studies in the UIW core. This is a part-time, non-tenure-track position.

Essential Functions
The Instructor in English prepares and teaches Composition I, Composition II, and World Literature Studies courses, conducts lectures, leads classroom discussion, and other classroom activities. Instructors are expected to construct essay assignments and examinations and other performance-based activities that provide evidence of learning by students in the course. Instructors must be able to work collaboratively with department faculty to ensure that standard curriculum outcomes are met. Instructors must adhere to all UIW policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Ability to teach Composition I, Composition II, and World Literature courses, conduct lectures, lead classroom discussion, and lead other classroom activities; -Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Masters degree in English

Required Work Experience
-Demonstrate proven effectiveness in composition and literature courses at the college level;
-Provide documentation of student evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in English.
