Instructor of Bassoon (Part-Time)

UIW Mission

Position Summary
The Instructor of Bassoon (part-time) teaches private Bassoon lessons to students of beginning to advanced levels and possibly coach the woodwind quartet or other wind chamber ensembles.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Essential Functions
Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.

Job Duties

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Ability to teach bassoon technique and repertoire at all levels, beginner to advanced;
-Ability to coach wind chamber ensembles;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Required Education

Required Work Experience
Two (2) years of successful college-level private instruction experience

Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) years of successful college-level bassoon instruction and wind chamber ensemble coaching experience

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

Work Hours
-Must be available Thursdays 1:30 pm-2:45 pm; -Private lesson hours may be arranged.
