Position Summary

The Instructor of Engineering is a part-time position within the School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering. The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with tracks in Management, Mechanical, Electrical, and Mechatronics.

This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time faculty as needed.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Essential Functions
-Teach engineering courses as assigned by department;
-Hold on-campus office/online hours per week per section;
-Follow common syllabus, utilizing online homework system and learning management system;
-Keep in contact with department chair and participate in meetings when requested;
-Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission;
-Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Education

Preferred Qualifications
-PhD in Engineering;
-Priority will be given to candidates with strong teaching skills;
-Teaching experience preferred
