Position Summary:
This position is a non-tenure track faculty position that will provide instruction in the FAA-regulated Aviation Maintenance Program. This position may teach during the day or the evening depending on the instructional needs of SSC. The teaching requirement is for 6 hours of contact each day. Classes are offered each quarter for nine weeks.

Additional time may be required for student advising as well as campus and departmental activities and committees. Current hours of instruction are 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Instructional hours will depend on the schedule needed for coverage of the classes offered and the subjects taught.

Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.

Essential Functions:
Instruct students in all aspects of FAA General, Airframe and Powerplant categories. Provide a supportive and culturally sensitive environment for students in the program. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve the aviation program. Participate in college-wide activities

Required Education, Experience & Abilities:
This faculty position must possess current certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in both Airframe and Powerplant. Candidates should have current work experience in General or Commercial Aviation and possess a broad base of experience that will enable delivery of current industry practices to the students enrolled in the program. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Candidates must be able to work well with diverse populations and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences. Other required education, experience, and abilities include:
