Description
This position will be located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus, but will require travel to other campuses and local events as needed. Occasional nights and weekends will be required.

Under the supervision of the Design Center Coordinator, provides photography and videography for college communications and marketing: recruitment, retention, fund-raising and events that support MATC's mission and vision. Work is performed with creativity, ingenuity and experienced photography and videography skills using established Design Center and Marketing department policies and procedures. Works closely with other professionals in a team approach and is dependent upon direction for marketing needs. Communication is continuous between supervisor, teams and college stakeholders.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and produces photography and videography for college communications including but not limited to: branding, collateral materials, MATC digital and display communications, logo identity and development, publications, signage, displays and exhibits, matc.edu, social media, college events, college multi-media presentations, and other assigned college marketing requests.
  • Maintains and upholds MATC branding specifications.
  • Meets project production schedules and accountable for tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Utilizes illustration and digital image enhancement or editing skills and experience including advanced software to edit and enhance photographs and videos that aligns with best industry practices.
  • Schedules photo and video shoots as requested to meet deadlines, supports media requests for images, builds MATC event web galleries, curates and maintains MATC Marketing photo subscription site and digital asset management software.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of all photography and video equipment including the Design Center photography studio M584.
  • Uses advanced software to create and edit videos and corresponding assets like lower third nameplates, intro slides and animated end slides.
  • Actively assists student workers in the Design Center with training and instruction in professional skill sets consistent with career goals in photography and video.
  • Maintains work related tools and equipment, including MAC and PC computer, digital cameras, scanners, tablets, and other work related equipment. Could be combined with earlier bullet point.
  • With the direction of the Design Coordinator works collaboratively with team members of the marketing and communications team to continually schedule photo opportunities for editorial and marketing assignments. Coordinates with contract videographers and/or photographers on special projects.
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and other educational activities as required or assigned.
  • Maintains digital photo archive and provides images to team members and other stakeholders for various projects.
  • Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the division.


Qualifications
Required Education: Associate degree in Graphic Technology, Photography/Videography or related field.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in related field.

Required Experience: Four (4) years of professional photography experience with the capability to take the project from inception through final production.
Preferred Experience: More than four (4) years of relevant experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., carry, and push up to 20 lbs. and ability pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear and speak.
  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: 50% of time spent sitting, 25% of time standing, and 25% of time walking.
