Position Description
Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, paraprofessional or professional staff members.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provide project management oversight for large-scale, programmatic grant awards by:
    • Recording and documenting key metrics to be included in regular reports to the granting agency.
    • Maintaining fiscal accountability of the grant award.
    • Ensuring PIs and partners are adhering to deadlines and meeting milestones.
  • Facilitates the development of regular reports to granting agencies.
  • Facilitates communication between key partners.
  • Creates detailed scopes of work (SOW) for funded grant awards.
  • Coordinates certain programmatic grant activities, as identified in the SOW. These activities may include creating agendas and communicating logistics for professional development sessions, or meetings/symposia, as required by the funded grant.
  • Coordinates certain compliance responsibilities, as related to the funded grant.
  • Creates detailed project management plans for large and complex grant proposals that will serve as the basis for the program directors scope of work, if awarded.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

  • Independent judgment, strong organization, and communication skills, and a superior customer service focus.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects and meeting external, hard deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a diverse community including students, faculty, administrators, and industry, as well as federal and state agencies.
  • Ability to motivate others.
  • Superb professional writing and editing skills.
  • Proven history of leading project teams of various sizes and seeing projects through to completion.
  • Knowledge of formal project management methodologies.
  • Budget management experience.
