About the Opportunity:
The Office of City and Community Engagement (CCE) seeks to support Northeastern University's long-standing mission to serve its community, both globally and locally. It is actively engaged in civic and community efforts, with hopes of further progressing a shared goal of positive community and campus development.

Within this, Community-Engaged Teaching & Research at Northeastern seeks to support the curricular and scholarly work of CCE. Community-Engaged Teaching, or Service-Learning, is a form of experiential learning for students and a teaching tool for faculty that purposefully integrates academics and service or community-engaged projects to meet classroom and community goals throughout the semester. As part of their coursework, students partner with community-based organizations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies as a way to learn the course material. The Program Manager for Community-Engaged Teaching & Research will focus on faculty, partner, and program engagement and development. They will be responsible for maintaining partnerships, growing collaborations, and supporting the implementation of a team vision.

Responsibilities:
Faculty and Partner Engagement

? Communicate with faculty members and campus partner to identify who is planning to teach a service-learning course each semester or is interested in collaborating on community-engaged research.

? Manage a semi-annual Request for Partnership Process for both community-engaged teaching and research partnerships; communicate effectively with faculty members and potential community partnerships throughout the process.

? Maintain effective tracking process for service-learning courses, faculty research and scholarship, and community partnerships.

? Promote ethical community-engagement practices and communicate this priority across teaching and research initiatives.

? Plan and implement Partnership Orientation event prior to each semester to facilitate conversations between community partners and faculty members. ? Manage Faculty and Community Partner Resource website, trainings, toolkits, and other online resources; troubleshoot concerns related to community partnerships and service-learning courses.

Program and Project
? Coordinate the Community-Engaged Teaching & Research Advisory Board alongside the Director to solicit feedback and input on community-engagement efforts and programming.

? Support and coordinate a Service-Learning Fellows Program in partnerships with the Director and Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning through Research.

? Create and Manage on-boarding and training modules for faculty members and community partners.

? Innovate program development as it connects to the vision and goals of Community-Engaged Teaching & Research and City & Community Engagement.

Collaboration, Communications, and Events
? Manage and Coordinate the Annual Community-Engaged Teaching & Research Mixer.

? Manage and Coordinate the Bi-annual Publicly-Engaged Scholar-in-Residence Event.

? If applicable, manage part-time student workers for events and administrative support.

? Collaborate with CCE colleagues to ensure alignment of initiatives and contribute to CCE's broader goals and mission.

? Participate in special events and programs sponsored by CCE, as well as campus and community partners.

Qualifications:
? Bachelor's Degree required in related field.
? 1-2 years experience working in community-engagement at an institution of higher education and/or social change and community organizing.
? Demonstrated understanding and dedication to building responsible partnerships, diversity and inclusion, and social change.
? Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
? The ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse and urban environment.
