About the Position:
The Administration and Finance-Contracts and Procurement department provides the campus community with cost efficient and effective handling of acquisitions and contracting needs in accordance with State laws and CSU policies. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Property Clerk I. The ideal candidate in this role should a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Property Clerk I provides administrative support and coordination for the Property Control function. Tracks, tags and reports on property. Maintains the property database, updating information as necessary. Tracks paperwork on new equipment and enters information into CSU database. Coordinates the tagging of new equipment and supplies with property tags. Coordinates with Departmental Asset Record Keepers for each unit regarding the status of their property. Does on-site verification and tagging of equipment. Maintains a current working knowledge of property guidelines and policies. Other duties as assigned.







Essential Qualifications:
Two years of experience inventorying and maintaining control records for a wide variety of property and equipment or expendable storekeeping items. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of people. Ability to handle sensitive situations and work effectively with people at all levels of the organization. Ability to use a computer to complete work tasks. Knowledge of Access, Word and Excel sufficient to work with and maintain a large database and complete related work assignments. Ability to complete detailed assignments within established deadlines. Working knowledge of the internet. Ability to lead and oversee the work of others.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Special Working Conditions:
May be required to travel in and out of buildings in a wide variety of weather conditions. May need to bend, kneel or stoop to identify property tags in confined spaces. Will carry a Master Key.
