Position Description
Assists in supervision of the operations and coordination of assigned area. May supervise second shift (evening/night) use of facilities and remote sites. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performance is evaluated based on the effectiveness and efficiency of operation of the area supervised. Supervises other staff and/or student employees.

Major/Essential Functions

Must have a valid Drivers License and insurable to drive TTU vehicles.
Completion of high school or the equivalent plus five years progressively responsible office administration or supervisory experience. Additional education may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis. Should have the ability to lift up to a maximum of 60 pounds and move load from one location to another.
Be required to have the ability to work under pressure in a multi-task environment to meet customer deadlines.
Have the experience to provide customer service on the phone or face to face.
Meets daily deadlines by planning and organizing to ensure a high quality of work and quantity of work. Inventory prepares an accurate Grantham warehouse, key and equipment inventory for the assigned area at least weekly.
Ensures 'on-hand' inventories match TMA records.
Training: monitors the training and procedures of lead custodians, technicians, and custodians, recommends retraining or outlines a plan for restructuring if needed.
Good Team building skills to work on teamwork by assisting others as needed throughout the department. Effective communication in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
Positive Attitude and customer-oriented. Assists employees in moving heavy trash, furniture and equipment. When building dumpster is full transports trash to another dumpster.
Delivers mail, safety lectures, and paperwork to employees in a timely matter. Transports: loads and unloads equipment and supplies from vehicle/building, to and from the shop for repair or replacement.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

5 years experience in building custodial work with at least 1 year at a management level, floor maintenance, and the ability to plan, organize and train others.
