Job Summary

The Linguistics Department would like to hire someone for 3-5 hours (at $18/hour) to transcribe Zapotec languages. Who We Are

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Colorado Boulder is a major center of interdisciplinary research in cognitive-functional linguistics, computational linguistics, language documentation, psycholinguistics and experimental linguistics, and sociocultural linguistics. It offers a range of research programs targeting properties of spoken language.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Duties include creating an annotated transcription of Zapotec words in Praat, meeting once per week to discuss the sound system of Zapotec languages, helping organize a database of Zapotec languages, and/or to discuss any potential issues with the work. Hours are mostly flexible. Experience with Praat software is required; training and guidance is provided as needed.

What We Can Offer

The hourly rate for this part-time position is $18.
