Job Summary:
The Department of Surgery has an opening for a full-time Faculty position (unclassified) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
The Division of GI, Trauma and Endocrine Surgery in the Department of Surgery (GITES) at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, has a full-time faculty position available at the rank of Instructor for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Under the direction of the full-time faculty or designee, this position provides outpatient medical care services at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH).

Key Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be expected to provide independent clinical services for our Trauma and Acute Care Surgery service (TACS) outpatient clinic.
- The candidate will act as the primary clinic navigator for outpatients working closely with the trauma and acute care surgery attendings to provide outpatient clinical care
- The role requires a strong commitment to patient education, care coordination, disease management, triage of calls/emails, management of referrals, pre-operative evaluation, post-operative care, management of complex Trauma patients post discharge.
- The ideal candidate will play a vital role in patient care including writing orders, conducting independent imaging/laboratory review, and comprehensive patient assessment.
- The candidate will assist in the operation of the outpatient procedural clinic
- Important components of the job will be assistance in smooth transition from inpatient setting to outpatient care, point of contact for clinicians and patients, in person and tele-health visits, coordinated and triaging outside referrals for elective procedures.
- The candidate will contribute to the multi-disciplinary outpatient team as provider for clinic nurses, nurse navigator, registered dietician, and social worker.
- The candidate will serve as a critical part of service continuity as a link between the inpatient and outpatient environments for patients.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
- Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (Nurse Practitioner) and/or the Medical Review Board (Physician Assistant).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years' experience in general surgery, trauma surgery, or critical care setting preferred.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$94,765-$123,261
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
