The Micro- and Nanoscale Bioengineering Lab (MNBL) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a research associate to build an organ/organoid-on-a-chip for studying various human diseases and drug screening. Applicants with a strong background in microfabrication and microfluidic devices are encouraged to apply.
Research in the MNBL focuses on designing and fabricating microphysiological systems to study various diseases related to the brain and other human organs in vitro. Our project involves collaborations with the Bioengineering and Biology faculty at NYUAD. Responsibilities of the position include building microfluidic devices, integrating biosensors into the devices, and interfacing with imaging modalities. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students, ensuring the candidate learns valuable skills in writing manuscripts and grant proposals, advising fellow researchers, and establishing collaborations across disciplines.
Applicants must have an advanced degree in engineering or a biomedical-related field. They must also have excellent device design and microfabrication skills, and multi-year experience in the cleanroom is essential.
