The AMMLab, housed within the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi, is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to contribute to the development of microfluidic-based platforms for biological and clinical applications. The appointed individual will lead innovative projects in the emerging areas of polymer and paper-based microfluidics, targeting applications involving live mammalian and bacterial cells, biochemical assays, and clinical samples such as blood, urine, and saliva for biosensing purposes.
Our research group has developed a range of microfluidic technologies for biomedical and clinical applications. The successful candidate will be expected to advance these technologies across different biological models and contribute to other projects involving microfluidic systems for various biomedical uses. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment composed of PhD-level scientists, doctoral students, and full-time researchers.
Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of research experience. Demonstrated expertise in experimental and computational microfluidics, along with hands-on experience in microfabrication, surface biochemical patterning, and 3D printing, is essential. Furthermore, strong data analysis skills and experience with blood fractionation are required. Experience in laboratory management, including daily operations and handling import/export logistics within the UAE, is necessary. Proficiency in English communication, the ability to manage high workloads, and a strong capacity to contribute to multidisciplinary research projects are critical for this role.
