The Roy Lab at the Moran Eye Center is seeking a motivated Lab Technician to support ongoing projects. The lab is focused on understanding the cellular and circuit basis of retinal visual processing. We use animal models, viral vectors, electrophysiology, in vivo ocular imaging, and molecular biology, to answer questions about neural circuit functions, as well as develop translational approaches to blinding disorders such as glaucoma.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and experience of at least 3 years working in a research laboratory setting. Experience with animal handling (mouse, rat), colony management, dissecting and processing biological tissues for immunohistochemistry and/or molecular assays, handling biological/chemical waste, and routine lab management tasks, is needed. Strong communication skills, assisting lab members with animal procedures, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be considered strengths.
We are a dynamic, interdisciplinary and collaborative lab. While the atmosphere is collegial, our research is fast-paced and spans multiple ongoing projects.
