Job Summary:
The Discovery & Access Services Assistant assistant works in the Bertrand Library's Discovery and Access Services Department. The assistant will help staff in tasks related to ordering, receiving, cataloging, and processing library materials.

This is a 4 month position (May 2025 through August 2025), 20-30 hours a week, non-exempt (hourly), non-benefits eligible position based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Must be able to work during the hours that the library is open for the summer (8 am - 5 pm).

Job Duties:
Reporting Relationship:
  • Reports directly to the Cataloging Specialist


What You Will Do:
  • Acquisition & Processing: Unpacking, checking in new items, processing new books, DVDs, etc.
  • Catalog Management: Searching the library's online catalog, editing bibliographic data.
  • Stacks Maintenance: Retrieving items from the stacks.
  • Interlibrary Loan Support: Scanning chapters from books for interlibrary loan requests.
  • Exhibition Assistance: Assisting with the setup of library exhibits.
  • Non Essential Functions: The job description's listed responsibilities and tasks are not exhaustive, additional non-essential tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
