The Leeds School of Business encourages applications for a Photographer and Videographer! This role aims to implement a streamlined and strategic approach to our photography and video projects and efforts, including the pre-production, production, and post-production processes. We seek an eager, independent, collaborative and driven professional to take projects from conception through delivery and produce work that is aligned with the Leeds brand.
Reporting to the assistant director of design and visual identity, this position joins the Leeds Marketing and Communications team, which works to increase the school's visibility and reputation in support of recruitment, student success, alumni engagement, and other college goals. The team has many internal and external partners - including but not limited to our students, faculty and staff, alumni and donors, undergraduate and graduate programs, and our four centers of excellence. As a result, this position may capture subjects not only on campus, but also in various environments off campus and in the field - and is provided the flexibility to meet subjects when and where they do business.
The Photographer/Videographer ensures that all content is professional, compelling, accurate, audience appropriate and conforms to AP and university branding and style guidelines. This position requires excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, creativity and communications skills.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Photography
- In collaboration with teammates, concept, project manage and shoot annual "lifestyle" photoshoots - including imagery of students, faculty, the Dean, and classroom, presentation, campus and collaboration imagery. Example: Faces of Leeds community portrait series.
- Shoot and/or manage others to shoot 15-30 Leeds events annually.
- Use a photography database and system that makes it easy for partners across Leeds to access and use our best photography.
- Communicate photography standards and guidelines that build from our existing brand foundation to provide photography direction to partners.
- Manage the marketing photography and video assets using a DAM system. Maintain an organized workflow from taking photos/video, to finalizing them (editing), to organizing and storing them on the DAM and sharing them out with anyone who needs access. Create filtered views of select categories of photos (e.g., landscape, graduate students, faculty, etc.) for teammates and internal business partner use. Teach this organization process to student photographers.
Video Production
- In collaboration with content marketing teammates, concept, project manage, creative direct, shoot and edit a wide variety of videos, including but not limited to:
- Student profiles
- Faculty and research stories
- Event coverage
- Social content (especially YouTube)
- Work with partners within Leeds to support video needs. Might include consulting, project management, shooting, editing and broad support of wide variety video projects. As well as advising on style, length, location and script creation.
- In partnership with other videographers (and when necessary, contractors), assist with studio management (filling in as needed) and leverage studio capabilities as appropriate for more controlled shoots.
- Use systems to publish and store video assets, including management of the school's public-facing online video accounts (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) to support content marketing and social media.
- Identify appropriate uses for videos and photos in the overarching communication plan.
- Understand the relationship between design, content, and user experience and therefore adapts content as needed for each medium and audience.
- Recruit and manage outside partners as necessary.
- Recruit and manage student worker(s).
- Manage technical equipment and gear.
Strategic Photo/Video Visioning
- Develop, implement and measure success of unique visual communications strategies.
- Manage photoshoots from finding the location to communicating with the subjects to setting up for photoshoots in advance in order to create compelling photo/video assets the marketing team and business partners need to promote the Leeds School of Business.
- Supervise trends in video strategies relating to engagement, viewership and overall video performance. Apply or recommend relevant tactics to increase video performance.
- Assist with developing visual strategies for digital ad campaigns.
Partner Support and Other Duties
- Collaborate with online/distance learning team to increase production value, improve effectiveness and ensure consistent branding. Support requests for stock assets to be used in presentations and other academic productions.
- Provide direction by establishing, maintaining and communicating standards, guidelines, resources and tools for Leeds partners to access and use so that they may contribute to Leeds communications as needed.
- Stay current with photo/video trends and standard processes; maintain regular touch points with colleagues to assist them with understanding those trends and support them by demonstrating how the trends can enhance their efforts.
- Collaborate with CU Boulder campus video team and other video and photography professionals across campus as needed - to establish relationships and leverage efficiencies/knowledge, including b-roll, stock footage/images, and other assets.
- Related duties as required, including collaboration with other schools, colleges and campus offices such as Strategic Relations and Communications.
What You Should Know
- The typical schedule is 9am - 5pm with some flexibility to work remotely on days without events to photograph or provide video coverage for.
- Ability to travel to local locations and work outside of regular business hours and nights/weekends as needed.
- Travel is typically limited to the Boulder/Denver area, with occasional exceptions such as trips to Vail to support classroom retreats.
What We Can Offer
$61,200-70,000. Relocation assistance may be available within Leeds guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- 3 years of experience as a photographer.
- 3 years of experience as a videographer and editor.
What You Will Need
- Experience creating video and photos for diverse outlets (web, print, social media) and audiences.
- Experience working with various customer groups.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, organize, and collaborate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience operating and completing projects autonomously: use of independent thought and judgment.
- Ability to establish trust quickly with various partners.
- Proven success working independently and also working collaboratively as part of the team.

- Knowledge and Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, Lightroom, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition and/or After Effects.
- Experience with DSLR and cinema-grade video equipment, preferably Canon.
- Experience with common motion graphics, editing techniques and storytelling that helps meet business objectives.
- Ability to build a welcoming environment that makes subjects comfortable telling their stories on camera.
