Principal Gifts Associate Under the direction of the Principal Gifts Officer, the Principal Gifts Associate will be a key partner to principal gift officers contributing to a donor's meaningful relationship with the College; with the goal of inspiring transformational giving in support of the College's newly launched campaign. This position will help to manage College prospects with capacity to give a gift of 7-figures or more by utilizing excellent writing and organizational skills to ensure timely, coordinated and impact-driven individualized stewardship and engagement plans. With an in-depth understanding of institutional priorities, this position will also support the management of the campaign cabinet activities and the development of principal gift-level comprehensive campaign gift proposals to encourage new levels of philanthropic support. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the management of prospect portfolios at the principal gift levels to advance fundraising priorities for the College.
- Collaborate with partners in Advancement and across the College to develop and implement bespoke, creative and highly personalized engagement, cultivation and stewardship strategies and materials.
- Provide comprehensive support to the campaign leadership cabinet, facilitating seamless communication, meticulously overseeing meeting preparation, and coordinating various campaign activities.
- Serve as key partner in moves management efforts, by tracking, coordinating and scheduling individual stewardship and engagement strategy sessions for donors in assigned portfolios to ensure we're advancing strategic relationships with the top 100 campaign prospects.
- Lead the Individual Giving team's program for celebrating work at the principal gift level in partnership with the Stewardship and Donor Relations team.
- Partner with the communications to team to help draft well-researched, compelling proposals for principal gift level solicitations with prospect managers and partners across campus, including College leadership and faculty, to help inspire transformational giving in support of the College's priorities.
- Write customized correspondence for principal gift prospects and donors on behalf of College leadership and/or prospect managers.
- Be accountable for action items, follow up and project management involved in delivering on prospect strategies for stewardship and engagement in an environment with competing priorities, opportunities, challenges and deadlines.
- Plan and create innovative and individualized stewardship activities.
- Coordinate with the Advancement Prospect Development/Research team to move principal gift prospects through our donor pipeline.
- Provide leadership and coordination for all on- and off-campus programs and events for principal gift prospects.
- Maintain a principal gift cultivation and stewardship calendar based on curated strategies and analytics.
- Analyze top 100 campaign prospects' gift data quarterly to create appropriate reports.
Utilize data to inform the work of the Principal Giving team and assist in identifying opportunities to advance the Campaign.
- Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of post-college work experience, preferably in an advancement/development setting or equivalent. - Ability to work as an integral member of the advancement team, with a focus on principal giving priorities
- Excellent communication skills, including an ability to write persuasively and with efficiency.
- An appreciation of Jesuit Catholic educational traditions and methodology.
- An understanding of and an ability to succeed at a complex academic institution.
- Experience staffing academic leaders in their development work.
- An ability to uncover interests, motivations, and objectives from prospective donors, clients, and others.
- Experience working with fundraising volunteers.
- Tact, diplomacy, discretion, patience, sound judgment, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality inside and outside of the college.
- Highly developed organizational skills, detail-orientation, and an ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced complex environment.
- A natural affinity for collaboration and serving as a team player, leading through influence, and a high level of emotional intelligence.
