Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $20.00 Hourly
Maximum $23.00 Hourly

Job Summary
This is a temporary position that provides administrative support across various HR functions, including talent acquisition, benefits, employee relations, compensation, HRIS and HR operations. Duties include answering calls, processing employment verifications, maintaining files and records, assisting with applications, and other clerical duties. The role may also support pre-employment screening and respond to routine HR inquiries. Professionalism, discretion, and strong customer service skills are essential.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Human resource practices and procedures, with emphasis on employment processing and onboarding.
  • Office administration practices, including mail distribution, document handling, and recordkeeping.
  • Confidentiality standards and the proper handling of sensitive employee information.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (such as Banner, PeopleAdmin or ADP) and their role in managing employee data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace tools.
  • High attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with HR procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with employees, managers, and vendors.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience of general office or administrative support experience, preferably in a human resources or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
