The Division of Continuing Education is encouraging applications for the Program Manager position! The Division of Continuing Education (CE) at CU Boulder provides quality, innovative, lifelong learning opportunities for a diverse student population by extending the educational resources of the university to the Boulder community, the state of Colorado, and beyond. The Program Manager is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Assistant Dean for Strategic Engagement.
The position maintains responsibility for managing and improving the day-to-day operations of assigned program offerings, to include providing information for students, faculty, and colleagues; program data research, analysis, and reporting; comprehensive administrative support; program strategy, development, implementation, and review; and program website updates. The role works closely with other CE core program staff to collaborate around course/program strategy and departmental communications.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Program Administration:
- Collaborate with CE Records, Registration, and Accounting offices to create courses in various modalities (hybrid online/in-person, online/remote, and in-person) in CU-SIS, and ensure that enrollment, billing, and tuition are being processed and communicated appropriately.
- Create course schedules and learning modalities that meet student/program needs and are in compliance with faculty hiring guidelines.
- Collaborate with the assistant dean, CE Marketing & Communication, academic departments, individual instructors, and other collaborators to contribute to the creation of effective website content and communications
- Communicate information about the program/s - purpose, enrollment requirements, offerings, policies/procedures, etc., to students, staff, and faculty.
- Maintain and provide critical data - e.g., course completion rates, student demographics, FCQ summaries, etc. - to the assistant dean for the purposes of program assessment.
Faculty Support:
- Collaborate with CE Accounting/HR staff to ensure that faculty are set up in the system promptly and payroll runs smoothly.
- Provide comprehensive onboarding to faculty and ensure they receive the necessary support for effective teaching in the hybrid online/in-person modality and student success.
- Provide support and strategic input for faculty professional development initiatives.
- Serve as a supportive and knowledgeable resource for faculty questions and program policy matters.
Program Mission/Strategy:
- Guide the strategy of the assigned programs (hybrid, online, in-person) and how they support the goals and needs of the division, main campus, etc.
- Develop, maintain, and achieve strategic goals for the program/s that enhance enrollments, fiscal performance, program reputation, and student success.
Program Policies and Procedures:
- Coordinate the efforts of various constituents to determine, implement, and maintain the best policies and procedures for assigned program/s.
- Ensure that policies and procedures align with the main campus, school/college, and the division, and that they promote equity across departments, programs, and students.
- Develop strategies for improvements and implement changes, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with campus, CDHE, and accreditation guidelines.
Fiscal Management:
- Develop and manage a budget for the assigned program/s.
- Develop new policies and procedures as necessary to achieve fiscal goals and objectives and to assure fiscal soundness of the program/s.
- Manage program revenues and expenses and, if applicable, initiate/track revenue share disbursements to departments/colleges.
- Maintain accurate records of course enrollments and the budget agreement impacts of various departments.
- Work closely with CE Accounting to ensure money is transferred in a timely manner to departments/schools/colleges.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- This position may occasionally represent the assistant deans/assistant directors and/or CE at meetings, serve on CE or university committees, assist with special events, etc., and/or perform other job-related duties as assigned by the assistant dean, and/or dean of Continuing Education.
- Attend CE and subunit meetings.
- Regularly seek out and attend professional development opportunities, specific to supporting faculty or students, and managing programs.
What You Should Know
- This position will typically work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and have a hybrid work schedule.
What We Can Offer
- The starting salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000 annually. Relocation assistance may be available per divisional guidelines.

What We Require
- Master's degree, ideally in higher education or an area related to the assigned program(s).
- 3+ years of related professional experience.
- Prior work engaging with college/university faculty.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within academic units, campus departments, and Continuing Education colleagues at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and within a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative approaches to solving problems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple requests, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural, political, and geographical differences, with the ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students of a diverse set of backgrounds.
- Interest in learning and skills for clearly explaining concepts and policies to instructors and students.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, analytical, and technical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to plan, create, and organize budgetary reports.
