What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director of Development who will support the mission of the university by qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of donors and prospects for major gifts to Baylor, focused on support for the College of Arts & Sciences.
A Bachelor's degree and less than one year of relevant work experience is required. A Master's degree and two years of relevant work experience are preferred.
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Actively participate in Advancement's prospect management activities, including discovery and qualification visits, and other prospect development initiatives
- In partnership with the Managing Director, Assistant VP, and Associate VP for Development, establish annual, measurable goals for new gift commitments, submitted proposals, qualified prospects, and prospect meetings conducted
- Partner with deans, directors, and senior administrators to develop compelling philanthropic priorities that align with Baylor's and the colleges' or units' strategic plans for major donors
- Collaborate with Advancement colleagues and the College of Arts & Sciences team to foster trust, encourage innovative strategies, and work with Baylor staff and volunteers to significantly grow private giving
- Work closely with deans, directors, and senior leaders to structure, engage, and support college and unit advisory boards and councils, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals and increasing philanthropic support
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
