The Michael L. Jeffries Sr. Center for Access and Academic Success (TJC) at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign is accepting applications for one Assistant Director and two Precollege Advisor positions. We invite individuals with specialized training, skills, and experiences helping students succeed to apply.
The Assistant Director for the TRIO McNair Scholars Program (Search-1032056) is responsible for supporting the Director and the Associate Director for TRIO Programs in managing the program, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines, grant proposals, and relevant legislation. Oversees the daily operations and strategic execution of the McNair Scholars Program and provides comprehensive leadership in program recruitment, annual programming, program administration, teaching, advising and ensuring participants academic persistence, monitoring/reporting graduate school enrollment as assessments related to the grant's objectives, and staff supervision. Empowers first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students to achieve academic success and pursue Ph.D. studies.
The Pre-College Advisor (Talent Search-1032047) is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the TRIO Talent Search program in compliance with the approved grant proposal, federal legislation and regulations, state law, and university policies. Responsible for contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of precollege services that increase achievement, persistence, and graduation rates for participants. Delegated responsibility for ensuring the attainment and reporting of the program's objectives and outcomes.
The Precollege Advisor (Upward Bound-1032045) is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the TRIO Upward Bound program in compliance with the grant proposal, federal legislation, regulations, and university policies. Additional responsibilities include the development, implementation, and evaluation of precollege services that increase achievement, persistence, and graduation rates for participants. Finally, this position will help ensure the attainment and reporting of the program's objectives and outcome.
Hybrid - Hybrid work options may be available for this position, with the ability to be on-site at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus as needed per the University's Workplace Flexibility policy. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for these positions.
