What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking an Internship Manager for the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation (HHPR). The Internship Manager will support the mission of the university by serving as the Baylor internal and external contact for undergraduate and graduate students' internship and practicum field experiences in the HHPR internship program. This position also provides a full range of duties related to directing practicum and internship experiences for HHPR programs by creating, organizing, and managing confidential records, facilitating internship placement of students, and overseeing the necessary legal paperwork.

A Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience is required. A Master's degree and five years of relevant work experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the other.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Direct all HHPR internship operations for undergraduate and graduate student field experiences
  • Disseminate information to HHPR faculty and students regarding placement of HHPR internship candidates
  • Collaborate with second party/agency representatives concerning issues or situations which arise with Baylor undergraduate and graduate interns at their facility
  • Conduct practicum/internship feedback surveys and deliver data to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and IRT
  • Prepare and distribute HHPR internship manuals and other HHPR materials disseminated through Canvas, Advising, HHPR Department, and social media
  • Assist Health Science Studies program with administrative work for signature experiences and Study Abroad experiences/internships
  • Participate in task force and committee meetings across campus
  • Lead students through the internship preparation journey, such as requesting HIPAA/BBP/PPE training and certification through EHS, resume and cover letter writing workshops, internship search workshops, etc
  • Create and maintain confidential records on internship and practicum candidates in 2 FilemakerPro Databases, as well as innovates websites, online forms, and internship/practicum applications for undergraduate and graduate HHPR internship program alignment
  • Review current internship agency options and problem solve with students 1:1
  • Visit internship agency supervisors in the field to increase community relationships
  • Initiate, manage, and shepherd practicum/internship contracts and affiliation agreements through Total Contract Manager (TCM)
  • Communicate/collaborate with second party/agency representatives to ensure compliance
  • Request certificates of insurance (COIs) from Risk Management
  • Collaborate with Internship Operations Office to request attestation
  • Attend appropriate conference / training sessions that are related to job duties
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
