The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) adjunct faculty member to join our team, supporting the education and development of future PAs. This role will involve teaching, mentoring, and contributing to the academic and clinical training of PA students.
- Approximately 10-15 hours (direct and indirect) teaching and proctoring every 5 weeks (Fridays) from September to June.
- Participation in the Final OSCE day in June.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Assist Principal Faculty in developing 2nd year didactic curriculum based on Learning outcomes and Instructional Objectives.
- Curriculum Delivery: Facilitate engaging and educational discussions on selected topics during each session to enhance student understanding of clinical scenarios.
- Board Preparation:
- Facilitate discussion of Board style questions during each session.
- Offer advice and assistance to students preparing for their board exams, sharing strategies and resources for success.
- Student Advising: Guide and mentor students through their Masters thesis projects, providing constructive feedback and academic support.
- Grading SOAP Notes: Assess and provide detailed feedback on SOAP notes submitted by students for each rotation.
- Proctoring POPs (Procedure Objective Performance): Facilitate, Proctor, and Evaluate students during procedural skill assessments.
- Proctoring Final Summative OSCE and Technical Skills Assessment: Facilitate, Proctor, and Evaluate student performance during the final summative Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and technical skills assessment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of clinical skills and tasks performed by primary care Physician Assistants.
- Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and scope of practice for Physician Assistants.
- Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office Products.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Possessing a masters degree.
- License /Certification:
- Current NCCPA Board certification as a Physician Assistant and an active PA license in the state of practice.
- Experience:
- Clinical experience as a practicing Physician Assistant.
- Previous teaching experience in a PA program or related healthcare education setting desirable but not required.
