The Director of P-20 Educational Partnerships plays a key role in shaping and advancing the shared vision for College of Lake County's partnerships with the P-20 community, most notably through dual credit programs with high schools. This role makes a lasting impact by strengthening pathways from high school to college and career, advancing equity, and closing opportunity gaps for students across Lake County.As a key college leader collaborating with Lake County schools, the Director will guide and expand dual credit, advance transitional English and math, and strengthen college and career pathway initiatives, ensuring alignment with local, state, and national priorities. The Director will lead a team that builds and maintains strong relationships to drive collective impact for students and families in Lake County.
This position also leads the strategic growth and implementation of the CLC High School Alliance, overseeing planning, outreach, and progress monitoring to achieve student success goals in partnership with Superintendents and school leaders. The ideal candidate is an advocate for student success and community vibrancy, committed to preparing students for the next step in their educational and career journey.

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP (50%)
Set and implement strategic priorities for dual credit in alignment with college priorities, career pathways, and fields of interest; explore and facilitate implementation of opportunities for expansion including professional development opportunities, curriculum alignment, certificate programs, GECC credentials, and early college programs.
Set and implement strategic priorities for P-20 pathways work in alignment with state and national mandates, college priorities and goals, and inclusive practices.
Provide leadership and supervision to the P-20 Educational Partnerships Department by setting, implementing, monitoring, and improving strategic initiatives aligned to college plans, priorities, and values and keeping all decisions and procedures focused on student success, equity-minded practice, and creating a barrier-free environment for students interested in the department's programs.
Ensure alignment to compliance and accreditation requirements at the state and national level, including the Higher Learning Commission, the Illinois Community College Board, the Illinois Dual Credit Quality Act, and current and future legislation related to dual credit and P-20 partnerships. Interpret the differences between mandates and recommendations or current practice to determine where barriers to equitable access and success can be easily removed and where advocacy is required to change policy.
Collaborate with Lancer Success Council, relevant governance bodies, and other units to ensure alignment of P-20 Educational Partnerships across the organization to meet student success metrics. Represent department priorities and goals to other units to ensure strategic use of resources, especially in conjunction with resource development plans for grants and foundation funds.
DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP, SUPERVISION (20%)
Supervise P-20 staff, including an Administrative Assistant, College Readiness and Dual Credit Manager, and potential future pathways staff to foster individual growth and ensure excellent service, equity-minded practice, and embodiment of college values.
Lead the P-20 department in team building and professional development opportunities that build subject matter expertise along with personal growth as a higher education professional.
Manage the budget for the department, ensuring spending aligns to college goals and priorities. This includes managing grant budgets and reporting, when applicable.
Guide the evaluation of P-20 initiatives and implementation of related improvements.
Serve on the Community & Workforce Partnerships (CWP) core leader team. Identify synergies and efficiencies across the unit to maximize efforts of the P-20 department.
COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (20%)
Provide strategic planning, outreach, activity planning, and monitoring for the High School Alliance that includes superintendents and designees for all Lake County high schools.
Foster enhanced collaboration and maintain the relationships between CLC and P-20 educational institutions, and other external entities that participate in corresponding initiatives. Oversee the related records, correspondence, and communication with educational and community partners.
Develop, maintain, and manage internal relationships with CLC faculty, staff, and departments involved in educational partnerships related to college and career readiness, dual credit, and pathways work.
Develop, enhance, and support external relationships with family foundations and grantors connected to P-20 Educational Partnership goals and priorities.
OTHER DUTIES (10%)
Provide input and leadership on national and state initiatives related to dual credit, transitional coursework, and other P-20 programming. Serve on related local, state, and national associations or organizations.
Monitor, analyze, respond to, and advocate for local, state, and national initiatives and priorities related to advancing equity and college readiness, dual credit, and other P-20 programs.
Provide support and serve on college committees, commissions, and councils that are involved in college and career readiness outreach, dual credit, transitional programming, and other P-20 work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in P-20 educational setting.
Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated experience setting and monitoring strategic priorities in alignment with institutional plans, priorities, and goals.
Demonstrated experience analyzing and responding to education-related policy and legislation.
Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities.
Experience working with diverse groups.
Budgetary management experience.
Desired Qualifications
Doctoral degree in education or a related field.
Experience applying for and managing grants or foundation funds.
Experience working with college readiness programming.
Experience working with dual credit programming.
Experience working with national and state leaders.
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Salary: $90,500 - $98,875 The salary offer in this range will be commensurate with the candidate's background and experience. Benefits and other terms and conditions of employment are highly competitive.
