Job Summary
The Associate Director of Research Innovation - Alana Welm Lab will report directly to Dr. Alana Welm at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The ADRI will support advancement of the Welm lab's innovation initiatives toward commercialization.

Responsibilities
The ADRI will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities associated with Dr. Welm's innovation portfolio through:
- Participating in Dr. Welm's lab to further understand and develop expertise in commercializable technology.
- Developing and implementing strategies to identify, support, and advance high-impact research with commercial potential.
- Leading efforts to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers to tackle complex challenges.
- Acting as a liaison between the university's research enterprise and commercial partners to ensure mutual benefit.
- Managing associated budgets and resources for innovation program and projects.
- Establishing metrics to evaluate the success and impact of innovation initiatives.
Master's degree in Business Administration or related area preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus 6-8 years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master's degree in Business Administration or related area preferred.

Preferences
The ideal ADRI candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with startups.
- Have a master's degree in a life science field with advanced degree preferred.
- Have excellent analytical skills and the ability to present written and oral materials in a professional manner.
- Have a strong orientation toward customer service.
- Be self-motivated and require minimal supervision.
- Have entrepreneurial, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Work well in a team setting.
