Job Description:
What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Video Production Assistant who will ensure resource handling and maintenance to support video content for university courses and other video projects within the Experiential Learning department. The Grip/PA acts as production generalist, both studio and location, for setup/strike, camera support, lighting, audio, control room operation, and safety while on set. This role assists in logistical, equipment delivery/setup/strike/movement/return, and material and human needs for video production.

This is a temporary, 2-year assignment.

An Associate's degree and less than one year of relevant work experience is required. A Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred.

A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

Preset (day prior), setup, strike and on set support of both studio and field-based video projects including gear prep (battery charging, inventory, assembly), delivery, setup, operation, strike, and return
Enter faulty equipment into a repair queue, tracking progress until gear is returned for operation
Assist in studio and location during shoots and fill in open positions where needed (2nd camera, audio, lighting cues, craft service, lunch orders, etc.)
Maintain organization of gear & accessories, keep studios neat, clean and orderly, ready for next session, tours of studio, and other mechanical needs
Work with the Manager, Academic Video Production and the Director of Experiential Learning to improve processes, workflows, communication and project management and scheduling software use
Maintain inventory of expendables, re-ordering where necessary to maintain smooth, continuous operation of the studios
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
Ability to comply with university policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
