As part of the Feld Center for Career and Alumni Engagement team, the Industry Relations Manager (IRM) will manage relationships with startup/early growth (1-250 employees; Seed-Series B funding) and mid-sized (250-2000 employees; Series C+/Pre-IPO/Recently public) innovative technology employers and business units, including FinTech, MedTech, Cleantech, SaaS, AI for business, EdTech, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and Startups, and conduct new business development to cultivate new employer relationships in these sectors for the purpose of enhancing career outcomes for Questrom undergraduate and graduate students. The IRM will expand internship and job opportunities for Questrom students in innovative technology sectors by establishing strong relationships with key employers, recruiters, and alumni in order to develop important networks, identify quality internship and career programs and opportunities, and keep abreast of employer needs. The IRM will identify and build relationships with target employers with strong internship and full-time job opportunities that align with Questrom students' interests and strengths, and will increase opportunities for students to interview with these companies by effectively marketing the Questrom School of Business. The IRM will engage employer partners for on and off-campus recruiting events and activities, and will involve employer partners in other academic engagement and extracurricular opportunities, including collaboration with faculty and student organizations. The IRM will systematically conduct research among prospective and current recruiters that clearly identifies their needs and how to best meet them. The IRM will share information, analysis, and ideas from the marketplace with fellow faculty and staff members for the purpose of better preparing students in their chosen career paths. Required Skills
o B.A. or B.S. or equivalent required o 5+ years related experience in executive search, corporate relations, development, or major account sales and marketing. o Marketing and sales expertise o Familiarity with executive search, college placement, or university development o Demonstrated ability to set and meet targets o Excellent time management o Unquestionably high integrity o Knowledge of employment trends o Excellent written and oral communication o Ability to work well with others o Demonstrated proficiency in developing and sustaining professional networks o Ability to travel throughout the year: A portion of time spent on the road visiting existing recruiters for BU Questrom. Travel will focus on major metropolitan areas. Occasional trips may include other parts the United States and abroad
