Job Summary

The Cellular Translational Research Core (CTRC) is seeking a motivated undergraduate student for a temporary part-time Lab Technician position in our biorepository (9 months). In this role, you will contribute to an important national study called SPRINT (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial). Your responsibilities will include retrieving, aliquoting, packaging, and shipping human samples to institutions across the country for downstream analyses. The ultimate goal of SPRINT is to determine the role of the APOE 4 genotype in Alzheimer's disease, and these samples will undergo advanced analyses such as DNA sequencing and proteomics.

As a Lab Technician, you will gain valuable hands-on laboratory experience in a large-scale biomedical research project, while also assisting with data entry in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) called OpenSpecimen. This role will provide you with experience in sample handling, process improvement, and collaboration with other students and researchers. The position is designed to offer flexibility for your academic schedule and is an excellent opportunity for students interested in pursuing careers in science or medicine.

The CTRC is a service-oriented laboratory, and our mission is to provide laboratory services, support, and expertise to accelerate investigator-driven research. If you are qualified and interested, we encourage you to apply and join our collaborative and rewarding core team.
