Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time Psychologist for the Transplant team at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. We collaborate closely with a broad range of clinical departments at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) to provide integrated behavioral health care in primary and specialty medical settings. Our Department is committed to hiring a health or rehabilitation psychologist with competencies to provide interprofessional clinical services on the Consultation Liaison (CL) Service, University of Colorado Hospital (UCH). This position would provide CL services with a broad range of inpatient medical, surgical and ICU units. The psychologist in this role will also be a team member of the Department of Psychiatry's Adult Division Integrated Behavioral Health Service as well as the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service at UCH.

The selected candidate will become part of the Department of Psychiatry's growing and dynamic Adult Division.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct psychological evaluations with live organ donors when CL psychologists need to cover the Transplant Service. Evaluations includes interviews and appropriate testing to rule out contraindications for donation. Initial consultation evaluations and follow ups, as requested, for safety evaluations, diagnostic clarification, and questions of decision-making capacity.

Conduct brief psychological screening, assessment, consultation of patients on intensive care units (ICU's), individual therapy with adult medical/surgical inpatients as well as evidenced-based treatment to patients and families coping with acute, chronic, and life-threatening illness.

Provide behavioral pain management interventions to patients on medical and surgical inpatient units; provide trauma-informed care to adults on medical/surgical units, and work with interprofessional teams to deliver trauma-informed interventions.

Consult and colla borate with interprofessional team members to develop intervention strategies related to physical and psychosocial challenges; Assist with patient, unit, and staff relational dynamics, and provide recommendations to help in cases with challenging patient interactions.

Provide trauma-informed care to adults on medical/surgical units; work with interprofessional teams to deliver trauma-informed interventions; cognitive and psychological screening/ testing when indicated.

Attend and participate in interprofessional Transplant selection committee meetings if covering this service. Develop educational activities for interprofessional providers and staff on inpatient units in conjunction with psychiatry attendings on CL service. Develop metrics and QI plans for C/L service in conjunction with psychiatry attendings on C/L service. Participate in training Department of Psychiatry Post-Doctoral Fellows in Clinical Health Psychology, other psychology trainees as well as Residents and Fellows in specialty clinical Departments.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Instructor:

1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship.
Eligible for licensure or a licensed Psychologist in Colorado.
Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health system.

Senior Instructor

1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship.
Eligible for licensure or a licensed Psychologist in Colorado.
Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health system.

Assistant Professor

1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship.
Eligible for licensure or a licensed Psychologist in Colorado.
Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health system.

Associate Professor:

4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship.
Eligible for licensure or a licensed Psychologist in Colorado.
Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health system.

Professor:

7+ years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship.
Eligible for licensure or a licensed Psychologist in Colorado.
Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health system.

Track:

Ranks of Instructor and Senior Instructor will be on the TTE track and given an opportunity to switch tracks, if needed, at a later time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-doctoral fellowship focused on health psychology, rehabilitation psychology, consultation-liaison services, integrated behavioral health care or highly related focus in specialty settings such as Transplant, CL, medical trauma, or other complex in-patient units.
Training and experience in integrated specialty care including inpatient behavioral medicine and/or Consultation Liaison services.
Training and experience providing consultation, assessment and brief individual and family interventions in inpatient medical/surgical, ICU and Transplant settings.
Training and/or experience developing and implementing behavior care plans in inpatient medical/surgical settings.
Training and experience providing trauma-informed care in inpatient medical/surgical units and ICUs.
Understanding of the biomedical, psychological, and social factors impacting patients at risk for and seen on inpatient units as well as Transplant programs.
Experience in integrated teams in specialty medical settings that promotes an inclusive environment.
Experience related to the impact of trauma, substance abuse and social determinants related to health, complex physical conditions, and recovery.
Ability to perform cognitive screening and psychological testing specialty medical settings: A clinical neuropsychology fellowship not required.
Experience with QI initiatives and metrics in inpatient medical and surgical units.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor: $105,000 to $120,000

Senior Instructor: $105,000 to $120,000

Assistant Professor: $105,000 to $120,000

Associate Professor: $130,000 to $155,000

Professor: $175,000 to $205,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
