The University Relations Academic Success Manager role at Utah Valley University offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on student success and faculty engagement. Summary of Responsibilities
- Communications: Initiates, creates, and executes communication with UVU academic departments, faculty liaisons, and department chairs regarding course applications and offerings. With the Engagement Team, develops training materials for academic liaisons - including presentations, and print and web platforms. Administers processes, from start to finish, connecting faculty liaisons with essential high school resources, including program instructors, coordinators, and administrators, to facilitate seamless collaboration.
- Trainings: Analyzes, initiates, creates, and executes training for new faculty liaisons. Works in conjunction with the High School Relations Manager to develop and execute the annual Professional Development Conference, contributing to stakeholder professional development and growth. Analyzes, initiates, creates, and executes additional workshops and makeup training sessions. Collaborates with the Director of Academic Success to plan and execute the annual liaison and department chair meeting, fostering continuous skill development.
- Analysis, Reporting & Tracking: Maintains the list of UVU department chairs and liaisons for each department. Initiates and facilitates high school site classroom visits with liaisons. Manages semester and year end course syllabi collection and updates. Manages and tracks faculty liaison attendance at the annual professional development conference, site visits, and update trainings. Manages compensation payment processes for liaisons, ensuring efficiency and transparency of the program. Creates, distributes, and collects insights from high school instructors through liaison performance surveys, contributing to ongoing program efforts and improvements.
- Relationship Building and Awards: Excels in relationship-building and recognition efforts including administering annual awards and recognizing years of service for liaisons and department chairs. Initiates and executes annual visits to liaisons and department chairs with the Director of Academic Success, fostering relationships with stakeholders.
- Budget: Develops and manages area budgetary aspects related to high school relations activities, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support the program's initiatives effectively.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties; OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling five years.
Preferred Qualifications:
One to two years of experience in event support and college degree/certificate preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of high school and university curriculum, as well as professional development processes that support instructor effectiveness and student success.
- Knowledge of how to generate reports, track data accurately, and analyze information to guide program improvements.
- Familiarity with concurrent enrollment program goals, policies, and processes to ensure compliance and alignment with institutional objectives.
- Expertise in organizational management, customer service, and administrative functions to support diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to apply problem-solving strategies to address challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, to prepare reports, presentations, and communication materials.
- Strong financial management skills, including monitoring budgets, aligning resources with program needs, and ensuring compliance with university guidelines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain professional interactions with high school instructors, faculty liaisons, and department chairs.
- Comfortable working with both high school instructors and university faculty to foster positive, collaborative relationships.
- Ability to encourage teamwork and collaboration among individuals with diverse perspectives and interests.
- Capacity to work independently on projects, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
