Job Summary
The Office of Admissions seeks an Admissions Counselor/Outreach Recruiter to join its undergraduate recruitment team. Reporting to a Senior Assistant Director of Admissions, this Recruiter would exercise the requisite skills, knowledge, and experience in working with government recognized tribal communities, and their leaders and members to facilitate recruitment of students to attain higher education. While this task will be paramount, the successful candidate will also participate in other activities regarding prospective students.
In addition to recruitment efforts, the position will also serve as an important liaison to campus partners and student groups providing encouragement and support to current students from varying backgrounds and communities. There will also be the opportunity to build connections with constituents outside the university to help provide information about CU Boulder, including bringing awareness to student scholarship opportunities, as well as awareness for Colorado's American Indian Tribes In-State Tuition Act (effective Fall 2021). What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Build a recruitment schedule and strategy with attention given to high schools throughout an assigned territory while also including outreach to communities supporting students and their families in their pursuit of higher education. Represent CU Boulder to a broad range of constituents at college fairs, community college visits, large-scale receptions and other recruitment activities. Regularly pull and analyze historical data to inform recruitment strategy.
- Conduct admission presentations to various populations. Collaborate with Marketing & Communications professionals in the Division of Enrollment Management to develop messaging that is effective and culturally competent. Build connections with constituents in the university, high school, other institutions of higher education, government agencies, community-based organizations and professional organizations regarding the admission of students to CU Boulder.
- Remain current on issues in higher education to inform and develop practices. Participate in and lead staff development activities to educate colleagues on best practices serving students, such as university workshops, conferences and programs, and national and international professional organizations.
- Regularly pull and analyze applicant information to ensure a broad applicant pool.
- Other duties as assigned.

What We Can Offer
- The annual salary range is $54,060 - $59,000.

What We Require
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least one (1)+ years of professional, job-related admissions experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

- Proven ability to work well with high school and college age students and their families, as well as a variety of multicultural populations.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A strong teammate who is also a self-starter.
- Willingness to enhance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and keeping current with legislative and ethical guidelines and requirements.
- Proven dedication to creating a supportive environment that recognizes cultural competence in higher education.
- Due to the nature of the position, there will be non-traditional hours on select evenings and weekends, as well travel throughout Colorado and outside the state.
