Job Summary
The Book Store at CU Boulder welcomes applications for a Student Employee Coordinator! This role is a part of the CU Book Store administrative support team and reports to the HR Coordinator and supports Imaging Services as well in all duties listed below. Supporting the CU Book Store Student Supervisors by providing support in the areas of all student employee related procedures and support. This includes all student employee hiring, onboarding, payroll processes, and student related HR functions. The CU Book Store has approximately 80-100 student employees throughout the year. The position operates independently and exercises sound judgment in collaboration with their supervisor, making decisions that support unit success and ensure compliance with state and university policies and procedures. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Student Hiring
- Partner with the CU Book Store Marketing Department, leadership team, and student supervisors to develop semesterly hiring plans.
- Recruit, collect, and review student applications; conduct interviews and extend employment offers.
- Assign student employees to appropriate CU Book Store departments based on staffing needs.
- Plan and facilitate all student onboarding processes, including I-9 verification, new hire paperwork, and coordination with the HR Service Center (HRSC).
- Develop, maintain, and update student hiring policies and procedures.
- Process student employment changes, terminations, and position updates in the HR system.
- Conduct exit surveys and maintain records of student employment separations.
- Facilitate the annual student performance review process and update review procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized student employee records and HR documentation.
- Work with HR to ensure employment standards and compliance requirements are met.
- Serve as the liaison to campus offices including Student Employment, Student Affairs, and ISSS.
- Process all student timesheets and payroll on a bi-weekly basis in collaboration with student supervisors.
- Partner with the HRSC to correct payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate and timely pay.
- Track and maintain student pay rates, pay adjustments, and position funding changes.
- Submit and process student worker's compensation claims and work-study position changes.
- Ensure compliance with university payroll deadlines and student employment regulations.
- Track and monitor student labor expenses and budget allocations
- Plan and coordinate student training sessions and cross-departmental engagement events.
- Support departments in planning and executing student-focused activities.
- Create and distribute the monthly student newsletter.
- Communicate campus-wide deadlines and opportunities to student staff.
- Administer student employee recognition programs and coordinate CU Book Access scholarships.
- Assist with reporting on student engagement activities and budget usage related to events and recognition programs.
- Lead bi-weekly Student Supervisor meetings and monthly one-on-one check-ins with supervisors.
- Maintain and organize the student break area, ensuring a welcoming and clean environment.
- Participate in CU Book Store all-staff meetings and activities.
- Support each department with student scheduling as needed
- Order student uniforms and name tags.
- Support departments during peak business periods or special events, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the CU Book Store and Imaging Services.

What We Can Offer
- The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 per year.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
