Responsibilities
- Review university's business practices to ensure pertinent regulations are followed, identify areas of non-compliance, and create a plan to implement changes as needed. Maintain a deep knowledge of regulations and stay abreast of all regulatory changes relevant to the university.
- This position contributes to the development and maintenance of university policies and procedures related to effort reporting and subrecipient monitoring.
- Perform annual subrecipient monitoring reviews for all subawards as required by Federal Regulations.
- Assist with the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for effort reporting and subrecipient monitoring to principal investigators, department administrators, and central office staff.
- Review financial and audit reports for material weakness. Determine if weaknesses in material noncompliance have been corrected on a timely basis.
- Audits accounting systems and analyzes expenses related to sponsored awards, reconciles data, and resolves technical problems or recommends solutions when appropriate.
- Partners with faculty, administrators, and central offices to address complex compliance issues, ensuring both compliance and support for the University's research mission.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enhancements; participates in initiatives to streamline workflows and improve efficiency in compliance operations.
- Promotes RMC's mission and vision by fostering cooperative relationships and strengthening the University's reputation for excellence in research administration and financial stewardship.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Compliance Specialist, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Compliance Specialist, III: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
