Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.
The Department of Art Education at Kutztown University invites applications for a tenure-track position, effective Fall 2026.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service that supports an equitable and inclusive campus community.
- Advise across undergraduate and graduate Art Education programs.
- Teach both undergraduate and graduate methods and clinical courses.
- The course load will be taught primarily in person.
- Mentor students from diverse academic, cultural, and disciplinary backgrounds.
- Contribute to program development and innovation in art education pedagogy.
- Maintain a scholarly agenda with attention to contemporary issues and trends in the field connected to culturally sustaining practices.
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service.
Minimum Qualifications
- Terminal degree in Art Education or related field (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) conferred by December 31, 2026.
- Minimum three years of PK-12 teaching experience. Appropriate record of teaching experience at the college level. A teaching demonstration is required.
- Evidence of culturally relevant pedagogy, inclusive scholarship, and demonstrated leadership in diverse learning environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four or more years of higher education teaching experience as an instructor of record.
