Position Summary:Join the InTech Center team as an Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Trainer, where your real-world experience will empower the next generation of skilled technicians. In this role, you will lead hands-on instruction in our Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician Training Program, helping students gain the technical knowledge and practical abilities needed to thrive in today's advanced manufacturing and distribution sectors
This is a part-time independent contractor services position with no permanent status granted. Payment will be through a contract with Accounts Payable. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the end date. Responsibilities


The role involves delivering comprehensive instruction in an Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician Training Program. Key responsibilities include:
  • Teaching the fundamentals of industrial mechanical maintenance, ensuring trainees develop essential skills and knowledge.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes effective learning and student participation.
  • Delivering specialized instruction in any of the following areas: industrial mechanical components, oxyfuel cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, blueprint reading, industrial safety, hand and power tools, lubrication, gaskets and packing, pumps, drives and valves, rigging, fasteners and anchors, material handling, power transmissions and the use of mechanical testing and measurement equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Providing training relevant to the advanced manufacturing and distribution sectors and preparing students for real-world applications in these industries.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into practical, accessible instruction for students at all experience levels.
  • Support curriculum development that serves both entry-level learners and working professionals seeking upskilling.
  • Staying up-to-date with advancements and trends in the industry to ensure instructional content remains current and relevant.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five years of industry experience in Industrial Mechanical work.
  • No prior teaching experience required; instructional training will be provided to help you transition your field expertise to classroom instruction.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic background in a community college environment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hands-on experience in areas such as industrial safety, hand and power tools, lubrication, gaskets and packing, pumps, drives and valves, rigging, fasteners and anchors, material handling, power transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics and maintenance practices. mechanical systems, industrial basic controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, troubleshooting, use of mechanical testing and measurement equipment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours to meet program needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills adaptable to students with diverse educational backgrounds.
