Program Manager, Opportunity Scholars

Job Summary

The Office of Transformative Student Experiences at the David Eccles School of Business seeks a full-time Academic Program Manager for the Opportunity Scholars Program (OSP). OSP supports and enhances the educational experience of first-generation and low-income business students as they progress toward graduation. Grounded in a student-centered philosophy, the program prioritizes students' well-being, academic achievement, and holistic development. Through intentional programming, proactive coaching, strong community connections, and meaningful scholarship support, OSP empowers students to persist, succeed academically, and graduate prepared for leadership and future opportunity.

Reporting to the Director of the Office of Transformative Student Experiences and working closely with the OSP team, the Academic Program Manager plays a critical role in fostering a welcoming, supportive environment that promotes timely degree completion. The position ensures high-quality program design, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement aligned with the Eccles School's strategic priorities and OSP's mission. Responsibilities include overseeing daily program operations; developing workshops and curriculum; managing mentorship initiatives; coordinating monthly events; and serving as the primary point of contact for approximately 100-120 students. The Program Manager provides proactive academic guidance, monitors progress toward graduation, supports scholarship awarding processes, and coordinates individualized interventions in collaboration with campus partners.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for a designated cohort of OSP students throughout their college journey, providing proactive guidance, monitoring progress, and supporting retention through graduation.
  • Co-develops and implement monthly leadership, mentorship, enrichment, and community building activities.
  • Connects students to critical campus resources, including tutoring, financial aid and scholarships, counseling, career coaching, and academic advising.
  • Provides day-to-day program administration and operational support.
  • Co-leads recruitment efforts and admissions review processes and support outreach to prospective students.
  • Tracks and evaluates program outcomes, student engagement, and retention data.
  • Assists with administration of OSP budgets and scholarship funds in coordination with Eccles partners.
  • Maintains student records and manage program data systems (e.g., Salesforce, NavigateU, Canvas).
  • Collaborates with Eccles faculty, academic advisors, career services, and campus partners to strengthen student success initiatives.
  • Represents OSP on the Eccles Scholarship Committee and contribute to school-wide retention and student engagement efforts.
  • Supports the broader mission, work, and initiatives of the Office of Transformative Student Experiences.
  • May be asked to provide student and logistical support to additional cohort-based programs as they are developed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three years of experience in budget, grant and program management or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required.
  • Develops and implements program ideas into successful academic and research programs; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.


Preferences
  • 2+ years of experience working with undergraduate college students.
  • 2+ years of experience in project or program management, preferably in collaboration with academic, industry, and community entities.
  • Previous experience advising, counseling, or teaching in higher education.
