Position Description

Seattle University is seeking a Program Coordinator to help manage all aspects of the Matteo Ricci Concurrent Enrollment Program, in close coordination with the Director. The position also supports selected additional programs housed in the Center for Catholic Education.

The Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Program is a specialized educational program providing college-level courses in local Catholic high schools. The CE Program has four current high school partners serving over 300 unique students with course offerings in the humanities, creative writing, mathematics, theology and modern languages. Currently, eight university Faculty Liaisons work with 19 high school Affiliate Faculty to provide the courses.

The program aspires not only to provide high quality university-level courses to registered students, but it also seeks to attract these students to consider Seattle University as their college of choice. The CE Program seeks to grow in both partner schools and student registrants in the coming years. It also pursues additional opportunities, such as the asynchronous course on Global Citizenship currently in its second round as a pilot with selected Jesuit high schools across the country.

The Concurrent Enrollment Program is housed in the Matteo Ricci Center for Catholic Education, a new unit that unifies and strengthens Seattle University's engagement with and commitment to PK-12 Catholic education. The Center for Catholic Education hosts both Concurrent Enrollment as well as the Catholic Schools Teacher Corps (CSTC), a program focusing on teacher formation. Additional programs or initiatives may be developed in the center, to expand its engagement and impact. Also attached to the Center is the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit honor society, which recognizes outstanding Seattle University students who express Jesuit values. Another signature program, the Sullivan Scholars Program, also will be linked to the Center.

The successful candidate will have a range of professional and personal skills and talents to bring to the role, including the following.

Program Operations & Academic Administration (65%)

  • Guide registration processes for program courses.
  • Manage Faculty Liaisons and Affiliate Faculty stipend payments, contracts, and grading completion.
  • Assist with enrollment data tracking and updating of key records, memoranda of understanding.
  • Maintain (or learn to maintain) the program website using web maintenance software

Partnerships, Programs & Outreach (25%)

  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external partners, including Faculty Liaisons, Affiliate Faculty, Assistant Principals and Principals, students, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Represent the University and the Concurrent Enrollment Program effectively.
  • Support administrative/organizational components of Jesuit Schools Network Global Citizenship course, Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society, Sullivan Scholars program, and Coordinate Catholic high school delegation visits to campus.

Events & Administrative Support (10%)
  • Coordinate periodic events (room reservations, catering, parking passes, etc.)
  • Support calendaring and provide basic administrative support to the Director
  • Provide periodic support to the Center for Catholic Education director as new programs are developed
  • Document collection for accreditation compliance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of related work experience with prior administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Excellent organizational skills, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial tracking.
  • Must have detail-orientation, and attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to make decisions independently, undertake multiple priorities concurrently, and prioritize independently to meet due dates/timelines.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse audiences using a customer-service focus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge or experience with Catholic secondary schools, working in higher education, and the Jesuit missions.
  • Ability to navigate complex systems.

Compensation at a Glance

Salary Range: $57,000 - $62,000

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible

This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the university's discretion.
