The Department of Occupational Therapy at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for for a Tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor (12- Month) with the appointment starting in Fall 2020.

Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program in the Department of Occupational Therapy
The mission of the CSUDH MS in Occupational Therapy Program is to prepare entry-level clinical practitioners with knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to practice in traditional as well as emerging occupational therapy roles with an excellent foundation for later specialization and lifelong learning.

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program has been planned with enthusiasm to help prepare students for a professional career focused on helping people achieve skills and utilize resources to live independent and meaningful lives. The program is structured towards producing client-centered therapists with enhanced critical thinking abilities. It aims to produce professionals, who can research, develop, implement, and evaluate procedures utilizing a high degree of independent judgment and to consult where appropriate with other members of the health care team.

The Positions
This is for a 12-month tenure-track position in the Department of Occupational Therapy with an assistant professor rank.

This 12-month tenure-track position come with the following responsibilities:
  • Teaching and advising.
  • Conducting scholarship in line with the mission of the department, college, and university.
  • Contributing to service for the department, college, and university.
  • Contributing to curriculum and program development.

    Minimum Qualifications
  • An earned post-professional doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, OTD).
  • 5 years of clinical practice in occupational therapy.
  • 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Eligible for occupational therapy (OT) licensure in California.
  • Qualified to teach courses at both entry-level as well as and advanced clinical-level courses.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring with ongoing or potential research projects that can foster student involvement and career opportunities.
  • Experience in working with students from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate a record of professional presentations and/or sound research trajectory/agenda for publications.

    Preferred /Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in OTD curriculum and course development.
  • Experience in supervision of students' capstone projects and/or residency programs, including development of MOUs with residency sites.
  • Experience in assistive technology and acute care practice.
  • Experience in teaching concepts related to population health, service-learning, and processes of reimbursement.
  • Experience in advocacy, leadership, and OT management.
  • Experience in community outreach and program development.

    Employment Requirement - Background Check
    Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
